Got No Time? Follow These Simple Steps To Grow Your Brand On Instagram
If you are not in it to win it… why do it at all? Winning doesn’t necessarily mean crushing the opposition or making a lot of money, but if you want your business to leverage Instagram to grow revenues, you have to set clear goals and execute with discipline to achieve these.
One of the benefits of having a functional OCD personality is being able to avoid, as much as possible, wasting time and energy on activities that are not going to get you closer to your goals. Too much OCD will cause analysis-paralysis. No OCD at all will make you miss important details. It’s all about finding a balance and using the OCD in a valuable way.
What I’ll share with you here was created with that balance in mind.
You should read this if you have been struggling with growing an Instagram following for your personal brand or business.
I’ll share with you part of the process that I’ve used to get several accounts from 0 to 10,000+ (and one above 40,000+) in less than two years without any design, photography, or videography skills.
This process is all about how to make the most of the limited resources you have available. As a business owner, you might not have enough time or money to dedicate to Instagram. Today, you will learn a high ROI strategy for Instagram success that ca be executed with limited resources.
If you think that social media is a waste of time and that Instagram is a “fad” then you should NOT read this. My goal is not to convince anyone that they have to use Instagram.
The goal is to help those who are already using Instagram by improving your actions to get better results.
How To Shake Hands Virtually On Instagram To Grow Your Business
There is no one-size-fits-all strategy when it comes to Instagram. There might be some components of certain strategies that can be replicated, but what works for others might not necessarily work for you.
One example of this is trying to replicate what celebrities or big accounts are doing. They have already given value for so long that they have TRUE FANS, they have people that care about them, so posting a picture of their breakfast or a selfie might get a lot of engagement because people want to know more about them.
If you are just getting started, nobody cares about your breakfast.
This means that when you are starting, if you want to replicate successful efforts, you have to look back at what these big accounts did when they were starting. Most often, it’s all about nurturing one-on-one relationships.
Just as politicians have to go shake hands and meet people door to door, and business owners have to personally make calls and go sale when they are starting, you have to do the same on Instagram. Some of the things you should do are:
Liking other posts
Making Comments that add value
Having real conversations through Direct Messages
But you have to do so in a cohesive way and with a clear goal in mind. As a business, some of the toughest aspects of growing are:
Communicating the value than you can create for your audience and consistently delivering on it
Finding the people that have a need for your solution and the willingness to pay for it
For many years, companies would spend on TV commercials, magazines, and other types of advertisements trying to increase the probability of being in front of their target audience. Nowadays, that is much easier.
Through the “search” function on Instagram, you can look for people that are in certain locations, that are posting/engaging with certain topics (through hashtags), and that have certain interests (by looking at the accounts they follow or by looking at the followers of certain accounts).
By doing some research, you can narrow it down to a couple of hashtags that you should follow and engage with on a daily basis. This could be making valuable comments on some of the posts you see there and sending some direct messages to start meaningful conversations.
You can add it, as part of your routine, to do this for at least 20-30 minutes every day. Do it consistently for 6-9-12 months, and you’ll be on your way to building a 10,000+ following.
